How to Write a Persuasive Essay: Using a Helpful Template
What is a Persuasive Essay?
Persuasive essays are fickle, difficult things. One of the ways to help clear things up and make them easy is to use a helpful template. That is getting ahead of things! A persuasive essay is nothing more or less than a paper in which you are trying to convince your audience of a position on an issue. It is best if there is some sort of ethical conundrum or optimization problem, if there is not any debate then there is little point to try to persuade anyone of anything. Your goal is to find facts and arguments supporting your position and to explain why opposing facts and positions are wrong or should not lend to the opposite conclusion.
Why should students write persuasive essays?
There is a method to the madness here. There are many good and valid reasons that students should experiment with persuasive essays. First, persuasive writing is used in the workplace, as any job where you need to write proposals will use this type of writing. Even resumes could be considered a type of persuasive essay where you are trying to persuade an employer to hire you. There is also an inherent value in writing persuasive narratives. Students learn to think critically and present their ideas logically. This is vital to communication in the adult world.
The Value a Template Brings
Bearing this in mind, there are some things that definitely help students learn critical thinking and actually write the persuasive essay. This is where a template for an essay may help those learning to write persuasively. There are only a few basic types of argument, and a template can show you how to properly build this argument from scratch. If you have a skeleton for a paper, you can see how the specific topic you are writing about could be built around that skeleton, and how different parts of the paper in question interact.
Using a helpful template
When actually using a helpful template, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, while using a template is very useful, it does not write your essay for you. You have to do that yourself. Moreover, for each part of the template think it if applies to your topic, essay, and approach. It is important to think critically and not abuse the template, as useful as it may be. On the other hand, look at how the template is structured and what it is asking you to do, because it is possible to let pride overcome you and think you do not need structure. Nothing could be further from the truth!
